SomnVeil is run as a personal project from Sydney, Australia. We serve a global audience and this notice aims to meet the requirements of the Australian Privacy Act 1988, GDPR / UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and PIPEDA.

What we collect

  • Email address — only if you subscribe to the newsletter. Delivered via Beehiiv, whose privacy policy applies alongside ours.
  • Anonymous usage data — via Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not set cookies and does not identify you.
  • Email you send us — when you email [email protected], that message is stored in Gmail.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta pixels, or any other third-party tracker on this site at present.

What we don’t collect

  • No cookies other than what’s strictly required for the site to function.
  • No device fingerprinting.
  • No selling or sharing of your data with anyone, ever. This also satisfies CCPA “Do Not Sell or Share” by default.

Your rights

You can:

  • Ask for a copy of the data we hold on you.
  • Ask us to delete it.
  • Unsubscribe from emails in one tap (every email has the link).
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you’re in Australia, your local DPA if you’re in the EU/UK, or the California Attorney General if you’re in California.

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above changes and the previous version remains available on request.
